I am a scientist and educator currently based in San Diego, California, USA. Broadly speaking, I am interested in the relationship between large-scale patterns/laws and small-scale behavior, primarily in fluid flows. I employ computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods to investigate fundamental flows such as interacting vortex pairs, with an eye towards utilizing my findings towards understanding more complicated flows such as turbulence. In addition, I am interested in the science of teaching and learning, both to improve my own pedagogical skills and to help make science education more accessible, and valuable, to everyone who wants to partake of it.
